It is a very mountainous parish which, however, also has flat spaces, especially those closest to the coast, which in this locality are known as Terreiros. The best, largest of these, planted on the seafront, extends to the vicinity of the Church of Santa Bárbara, and even close to Porto das Manadas.
Coming from the mountains that it overlooks, there are several springs with abundant water that supply several fountains. Its ports, mainly Porto dos Terreiros, are widely used for sport fishing and summer vacations.
